This arms was (and still is albeit slightly modified) also part of the arms of the City of Osijek (Eszek, Esseg, etc.) which was the capital of Slavonia and also the headquarters of the Slavonian Military Frontier i.e. the area under direct military control during the "Hundred Years' Croatian–Ottoman War".
