Order of Ferdinand I

Romania's rarest chivalric order, the Order of Ferdinand I was instituted by Prince Nicholas in 1929
and was named in honour of Ferdinand the Unifier, the King of Romania who united the country and ruled over Greater Romania.
It was only bestowed upon people who greatly contributed to the Great Union of 1918 and, after all of them received the order, it was abolished.
