In the Kingdom of France, the twelve original peerages were represented by eminent nobles of the king's choice during his coronation.
The earliest representation of the twelve peers at the coronation ceremony is attributed to the coronation of Charles VII.
Peers | Coronations | Pairs Nés | Dukes
Charles VII | Louis XI | Charles VIII | Louis XII
Francis I | Henry II | Francis II | Charles IX | Henry III
Henry IV | Louis XIII | Louis XIV | Louis XV | Louis XVI
