This branch was not eligible to inherit the throne of Baden, however in 1817 a pragmatic sanction was issued by Karl, 2nd Grand Duke of Baden proclaiming Hochburg branch eligible to inherit the Grand Duchy of Baden which indeed happened in 1830 upon the death of Louis I, 3rd Grand Duke of Baden and succession of Leopold as the 4th Grand Duke. The line is still extant to this day carrying a titular title of "Prince of Baden" along with other titles such as "Margrave of Baden" and "Duke of Zahringen" -->
