Autonomous kingdom of [[Kingdom of Croatia|Croatia]]<!-- Slavonia was an autonomous region/kingdom of the Kingdom of Croatia and Dalmatia. The division was made around 1224/5 when a separate Ban (Viceroy) of Slavonia was appointed, however quite often the Ban of Croatia and Dalmatia was also the Ban of Slavonia, especially in 14th and 15th century. In 1476 both titles were finally reunited. Slavonia also had its own separate assembly/parliament of nobles, however that too was rejoined in 1558. Following the reconquest of territory from the Ottomans the kingdom was reformed and a new kingdom of Slavonia was established, however it should be mentioned that the medieval Slavonia and Slavonia founded after liberation from Ottomans are actually two separate entities. The medieval Slavonia actually encompassed northern part of modern-day Croatia proper (north-central modern-day Croatia), parts of western and central modern-day Slavonia along with parts of northwestern parts of Bosnia-Herzegovina. The newly established Slavonia after 1699 however, was a completely new entity formed from (eastern) parts of medieval Slavonia along with the former Syrmia county that wasn't part of it. -->
