<!-- George Lindsay of Wormiston married heiress of Kilconquhar, Margarate Bethune in 1721. They had two sons, elder Henry assumed the name and arms of Bethune and became Baronet of Kilconquhahar, younger Patrick Lindsay was originally of Coats but purchased Wormiston from his brother and continued his line in Wormiston...they were called Ayton-Lindsay. The great-grandson of elder son Henry was recognized as 10th Earl of Lindsay but died without children so the line went back to his younger brother's line at Wormiston and grandson of Patrick who as well upon inheriting his cousin assumed the name Bethune, with both variants of the surname Bethune or Lindsay-Bethune in use. Surname was definitely legally changed to Lindesay-Bethune in 1919 by 12th Earl of Lindsay  -->
