<!-- The title "Baron Lumley" was created 4 times. First time in 1384 for Ralph Lumley who was attainted and executed for treason for participating in the "Epiphany Rising" in 1400 along with his eldest son Thomas. His 2nd son John had a son also named Thomas who was re-created Baron Lumley in 1461 and this creation lasts until 1544 with John Lumley, 4th Baron Lumley whos son George was attainted and beheaded for active participation in the "Pilgrimage of Grace". The 3rd creation was for John, son of said George who was created 1st Baron Lumley in 1547 but died without surviving issue. Lumley Castle then devolved upon the Scarbrough branch who were created Barons Lumley in 1681. --> | |||
