<!-- Muzio Attendolo married two times, from his first marriage he had a surviving son Bosio I who inherited Cotignola and obtained Santa Fiora through marriage. Wikipedia is quoting erroneous source. First the claim that Francesco I of Milan awarded anything regarding Cotignola is false as Cotignola was a Neapolitan fief and Francesco had no right to award anything or had anything to do with as he was a illegitimate son. (Translation: "He had three other wives and a series of legitimate and natural children: from Antonia Salimbeni, a Sienese patrician, Bosio was born, from the second wife Catella Piscopo d'Alopo he had Leonardo and Bartolo, from the third, Maria Marzani of the dukes of Sessa and countess of Celano was born Carlo (future archbishop of Milan)."). I emphasize from the Antonia Salimbeni, his first wife Bosio was born. https://www.marinaiditalia.com/public/uploads/2009_12_30.pdf
Further...
"The last great lord of La Rocca was Niccolò di Cione di Sandro Salimbeni known as Cocco. He tried to allay himself with the powers that would enable him to defeat the Republic of Siena and take control as absolute overlord. Among his powerful allays was one Giacomo Attendolo....In 1409, Cocco married him to his daughter Antonia, who brought in dowry the castles of Ripa d’Orcia and Vignoni....In 1411, he had a son from Antonia, but she most probably died in childbirth, as her death is also recorded in 1411. Apart from this son Bosio, he previously had had other children from various women of the people, one being Francesco who was born in 1401..." etc. Bosio was clearly his son from by his 1st wife. Francesco was illegitimate as were literally almost all of his other children.

"Dal suo primo matrimonio con Antonia Salimbeni, patrizia di Siena, celebratosi nel 1409 nacquero:
Bosio, governatore di Orvieto e generale della Republica di Siena, sposo Cecilia Aldobraneschi, che gli porto la sovranita di Santa Fiora. Da lui originano i conti di Santafiora e la famiglia Sforza Cesarini." (Translation: "From his first marriage with Antonia Salimbeni, patrician of Siena, celebrated [took place] in 1409, the following were born: Bosio, governor and general of the Republic of Siena, married Cecilia Alobraneschi, who brought him as a dowry sovereignty [county] of Santafiora. From him originate the Counts of Santafiora and the Sforza Cesarini family.

I can provide more sources.
Who says that I'm quoting Wikipedia? I'm staying away from that site as much as possible thank you. I am well aware of the Sforza lineage, however I added the Santa Fiora branch as it is well known but I guess this works.

From https://www.riariosforza.it/muzio_attendolo_sforza.html
Bosio (Siena 1411 - Parma 1476), governor of Orvieto and general of the Republic of Siena, married Cecilia Aldobrandeschi, who brought the sovereignty of Santa Fiora.
From him the counts of Santafiora and the Sforza Cesarini family originate.
Edit: Well I meant the Treccani source not Wikipedia, it is used on Italian Wikipedia which claims he was a natural son, basically all other sources confirm he was actually the eldest legitimate son of Giacomo aka Muzio. The thing is that means he wasn't really "a cadet" but rather a senior person in family inheritance as the eldest legitimate child and the continuation of the family. The fact his illegitimate half-brother Francesco won the lottery by marrying the heiress of the Visconti and became immensely powerful, overshadowing the senior (and legitimate) branch of the family is a totally different story. ;)
