Would you explain to me the recent changes to Burgundy Montagu? What is the source for the coat of arms with plain white canton? I've never seen that variant, always with canton hermine. Also, lords of Sombernon were not a cadet branch but the same main branch which changed possession of Montagu with mentioned Sombernon. Couches also used a specific arms with bordure engrailed until they've become main line after the dukes died out in male line and adopted undifferenced arms.

You can see a simple geneology even on Wikipedia where it is clear that there was no Sombernon cadet branch, they were the main branch. [1] Also the source for early Couches arms is this page [2] which I've consulted before in minor issues and seems pretty reliable and well researched. Edit: Also the Eudues, Count of Nevers arms was also the arms of his daughters who was suo jure Countess' and thus of that very short lived "branch". The youngest daughter, Countess of Auxerre even trasmitted that arms to her Chalon family.

Actually I see that the Wikipedia page is direct transliteration of that same source. So unless Anselme himself omitted it, than whoever transliterated it omitted it as well. There is no need to upload anything. We don't need a dozen of same arms, same arms can be used there for several things. I'll edit the page and you can review. Edit: the fact that Anselme was and still is well respected doesn't mean we should take his every word for granted. He wasn't there to see what arms they used since he lived two centuries after the entire Burgundy line died out. Edit2: Actually yes, the arms of Eudues need to be reverted or reuploaded. The problem here is that the engrailed and indented are often confused. Anselm is no difference.

Anselm lived in mid-late 16th century, which is like 200-250 years after the entire Burgundy line died out in 1400s....what do you mean "closer to that period of time"? I'd say we have far more resources nowdays than he ever imagined to do so back then. Sure, use the arms for whatever. I've uploaded it under Eudes de Nevers name, but that might have been wrong...idk.
