In France, the twelve original peerages were represented by eminent nobles of the King's choice during his coronation.
With the exception of Hugh Capet (Noyon), Robert II and Louis VI (Orleans) and Henry IV (Chartres), the Capetian Kings of France were crowned at Reims.
