Eastern Hungarian Kingdom

The term Eastern Hungarian Kingdom refers to the territory ruled by John I and John II Szapolyai who contested the claims
of the House of Habsburg (Ferdinand I and Maximilian II) to rule the Kingdom of Hungary and Croatia.
The Eastern Hungarian Kingdom was ended in 1570 with the Treaty of Speyer and became the legal predecessor of the Principality of Transylvania.
