'Purple Wedding'

The 'Purple Wedding' is the given name to the wedding between King Joffrey I Baratheon and Lady Margaery Tyrell on the first day of the 300th year since Aegon's Conquest.
It is remembered to be a lavish affair, during it's wedding feast within the throne room of the Red Keep at King's Landing, seventy-seven dishes were planned for the dinner, accompanied by various performances of bards, pyromancers, pipers, trained bears and dogs, sword swallowers, jugglers, Pentoshi tumblers or dancers from the Summer Islands.
After drinking from the wedding chalice, gifted by his goodfather Lord Mace Tyrell and eating from a pidgeon pie that he mockfully ordered his uncle Tyrion Lannister to fetch him, King Joffrey began to cough violently. King Joffrey choked to death on his own wedding day, accused of his death was Tyrion Lannister and his wife Lady Sansa Stark, although she already fled the feast before she could be arrested.
