Hypothetical arms of Gascony. Presumed to be taken over by House of Poitiers-Aquitaine (Ramnulfids) where it first turned
into rampant and then reverted back to passant (guardant) with different tinctures.
Also presumed to be the inspiration for the English arms.
The Counts of Armagnac (Gascon cadets) also used the same arms (lion gules) but with also changed stance of the charge.
