Second, the Ziegenhain were NOT a cadet branch, they were the Reichenbach Counts that continued in newly built Ziegenhain castle. The Reichenbach line which lasted until 1279 was in fact a cadet branch of the main line, issued from Poppo I, 3rd son of Gozmar I. Gozmar's eldest son was Gottfried I who built Ziegenhain and moved there, renaming himself in 1144/1145 by that place. As for Counts of Nidda, first Counts were of House of Malsberg, second were the branch of Reichenbach/Ziegenhain, we don't know what arms the first dynasty used as we have no seals or anything on them, we know what the 2nd dynsty used...black and gold shield with two stars, alongside the "goat eagle". And thirdly, the "goat eagle" was used by all three branches after the split...they differentiated between each other by black and gold shields...Ziegenhain with one star, Nidda with two and Reichenbach younger line with shield split dancety or indented.
