However, there is a preserved will on record of Richards father who was named William and Bernard Burke in his peerage also starts this line with this William, father of Richard. If this line indeed descends from Montagu-Cowdray line then this William would most certainly be the son of Anthony Browne, younger brother of 1st Viscount Montagu...his father also named Anthony and thus creating confusion. -->
