You can see a simple geneology even on Wikipedia where it is clear that there was no Sombernon cadet branch, they were the main branch. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Burgundy]
Also the source for early Couches arms is this page [http://www.europeanheraldry.org/france/royal/burgundy/] which I've consulted before in minor issues and seems pretty reliable and well researched.

Would you explain to me the recent changes to Burgundy Montagu? What is the source for the coat of arms with plain white canton? I've never seen that variant, always with canton hermine. Also, lords of Sombernon were not a cadet branch but the same main branch which changed possession of Montagu with mentioned Sombernon. Couches also used a specific arms with bordure engrailed until they've become main line after the dukes died out in male line and adopted undifferenced arms.
You can see a simple geneology even on Wikipedia where it is clear that there was no Sombernon cadet branch, they were the main branch. [1] Also the source for early Couches arms is this page [2] which I've consulted before in minor issues and seems pretty reliable and well researched.
