Based originally in Gallstown or Gaulstown in County of Westmeath, members of this branch moved to Germany where they entered imperial service and received Gersdorf in Lower Saxony and Hohlstein Castle in Silesia. Raised to imperial peerage as Barons (Freiherr) of Bourckh and then as Counts i.e. Graf Gall von Bourckh/Bourgkh. They are referred as "Gall de Burgh" or "Gall von Bourckh/Bourgkh" in German historiography i.e. Gall Burke family. -->
