Founded in 10 AC by Aegon I and Visenya Targaryen, the Sworn Brotherhood of the Kingsguard are the royal bodyguards of the Iron Throne.<br>Members are sworn for life, forbidden from land claims and marriage, and consist of no more than 7 knights chosen by the King.<br>
