Thierry inherited Montbeliard and Montfaucon but had only surviving daughters so Montfaucon reverted to his brother, but Montbeliard was passed on trough his eldest surviving child and daughter Sibylle who married Amédée I, Count of Neuchâtel by whom she had Rodolphe III, Count of Neuchâtel. Rodolphe III was eventually succeeded by his younger son Amédée I who had a son Rodolphe IV who succeeded him in Neuchâtel while his daughter Guillemette was the heir of her grandmother and through marriage with Renaud of Burgundy-Chalon transmitted Montbeliard to him. Guillemette and Renaud were succeeded by their son Othenin who died young so Montbeliard went to their 2nd child and eldest daughter Agnes who married Henri I who was a grandson of Amédée III of Montfaucon by his eldest son Gauthier II, mentioned previously...thus in two-three generation Montbeliard was reverted to Montfaucon family once again. -->
