However they were also somewhat disinherited by their father and recieved only minor inheritance. This line however, eventually still managed to succeed to the Dukedom, the 6th Baronet succeeding his distant cousin as the 8th Duke of Somerset in 1750. The line was, along with the main inheritance, also barred from using the grant of arms (augmentation) awarded to the 1st Duke by King Henry VIII and so they used the old (ancient) arms of Seymour with the augmentation of Baronetcy -->
